Explore healing through my journey in writing.
Life has knocked me down—hard. In 2016 I lost my son in a tragic car accident, and then 5 years later I fell 22 feet through my attic, breaking bones and nearly losing myself. But through it all, I’ve discovered something powerful: we can rise, even when we think we’re shattered beyond repair.
I'm the author of Happily Ever Afterlife, a memoir about motherhood, loss, and finding light after the darkest moments. Coming soon: Happily Ever Aftermath, a true story of trauma, recovery, and the wild, surprising strength of the human spirit (and maybe a little humor, too).
This is a space for resilient hearts—for anyone navigating grief, healing from the unexpected, or simply looking for a reason to believe in hope again.
Come for the tears, stay for the triumph. You’re not alone.
Bam. Bam. Bam. It’s the early hours of 2016 when the police knock on my door. Our family SUV has been found—totaled and abandoned on the side of the freeway. My son is missing. The driver’s gone without a trace. And just like that, the world I knew cracks wide open.
As the days stretch into a haze of uncertainty, I find myself unraveling the choices, memories, and moments that brought us here—from wild nights at 80s dance clubs to sterile hospital corridors, and the unpredictable beauty of motherhood. My thoughts are messy, sometimes chaotic, often laced with dark humor—but they are mine, and they carry me forward.
Happily Ever Afterlife is the true story of my journey through unimaginable grief after losing my son—grief that flips the natural order of life and asks you to keep breathing anyway. But this isn’t just a story about loss. It’s about loving someone through addiction. It’s about finding purpose when life doesn’t go according to plan. It’s about surrender, grace, and the surprising ways healing arrives—including some help from the other side.
Told with raw honesty and unexpected humor, this memoir is a tribute to all who’ve faced the unthinkable and still found the courage to keep going. Alongside my personal story, I share gentle guidance and practical ideas for those grieving—or for those who love someone who is. Because even in our darkest hours, connection matters. Hope matters. And yes—even after life as we knew it ends—there is still light.
